Taking photos of cities when traveling is a normal part of the work I do.
Often just fragments, they nevertheless present me with the chance to see things, objects and people anew. This “seeing things new” or “for the first time”, is a quality that the „view through the camera“ offers us.
It is important to trick the eye and the mind from time to time, to re-see the strangness of the world, to irritate the pupil, to stand on your head or just turn the camera up side down in order to stay awake to the chance of „wonder“ touching your soul.
The photos in the gallery are a selection of shots taken while traveling in Tokyo, Cardiff, London, Dublin and Frankfurt am Main.
They are part of an ongoing project called “Lichtmasterplan Poetika”.
